Plain terms for a plain deal.

1. The agreement

These terms cover your account on this website and your use of the Roy software ("Roy"). By creating an account or installing Roy you agree to them. If you're using Roy for an organization, you confirm you can bind it to these terms.

2. The free trial

Every account starts with a 14-day trial of the plan you pick. No payment method is required. During the trial you can switch plans as often as you like. When it ends, Roy keeps working for reads and your local data is untouched; outward actions (sends, posts, calls, trades, home controls) pause until you subscribe. We never convert a trial into a charge without you adding a payment method first.

3. Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance in US dollars at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Prices can change; we'll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you. You can cancel at any time from your account page — you keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and it doesn't renew. If Roy hasn't worked for you, email us within 14 days of your first paid charge and we'll refund it in full.

4. Bring your own keys

Roy talks to AI providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Perplexity) and to the services you connect (such as Microsoft 365, Google, Slack, Twilio) using your API keys and accounts. You're responsible for those accounts, for their usage charges, and for complying with their terms. Roy's subscription price does not include provider usage.

5. Your data and your approvals

Roy runs on your machine and stores its data there; our privacy policy says what little the website holds. Roy is built to propose and wait: it drafts, and you approve. You can choose to pre-approve categories of routine action in Settings. Whatever you approve or pre-approve, you are the sender: emails, posts, messages, calls, trades and home-device actions that Roy carries out are your actions.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Roy to break the law, to access accounts or systems you're not authorized to use, to send spam or harassment, to evade a provider's terms, or to interfere with the service. Don't resell, sublicense or reverse-engineer the software. One account is for one person; the Executive plan's unlimited devices are yours, not a team's — ask us about team arrangements.

7. Finance features are tooling, not advice

The Finance features connect to a brokerage account you control, run on a paper account until you deliberately set them live, and never place an order without your approval. Nothing Roy or its specialists produce is investment, tax or legal advice. Markets carry risk; decisions and outcomes are yours.

8. What we promise, and what we don't

We'll keep this site and the license service available, publish builds, fix security issues promptly, and be honest with you. Roy is provided "as is"; we don't warrant it will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time (see the privacy policy). We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, with notice where we reasonably can. Sections 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10 survive.

10. The rest

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, and disputes go to its courts. If a part of these terms is unenforceable the rest still applies. We may update these terms; material changes are announced on this page and by email to account holders before they take effect. Questions: hello@roychat.com.
